Yard Waste Dumpster Rental In Murfreesboro

A Container, Not A Collection.

The job

When A Brush Pile Stops Being A Brush Pile

Storm damage, a tree coming down, a fence line cleared, or a garden that has been left for a few seasons. Brush is light and enormously bulky, so the constraint is always room rather than weight.

This is a container you rent and load on your own schedule. It is not a collection service and it is not junk removal, which matters because the city already runs a curbside brush program and the two are not competing for the same job.

Local rule

Three Ways A Murfreesboro Brush Pile Gets Left Behind

The city brush crew will not take a pile that breaks any of its rules, and three of those rules catch real jobs.

Brush longer than 6 feet or thicker than 8 inches in diameter is not collected. A pile with lumber, household trash or other debris mixed into it is not collected at all. And the crew aims to circle the whole city every 14 to 21 days rather than on a fixed date, so a pile that misses a pass sits at the curb until the next one.

There is a fourth that decides it for the trade: private lawn and tree service companies are not permitted to place brush at the curb for city pickup at all. If you are running the job commercially, the municipal route is closed to you before any of the size rules apply.

The recommendation

Brush Is All Volume, So Take The 20

  1. Brush is the lightest thing we haul by volume, so the limit you hit is room. The 20 yard gives the most of it for the same $200 delivery as the smaller containers.

  2. Because there is no tonnage included and none wasted, a bulky light load is billed on what it actually weighs at $140 a ton, which is where this material does well against any bundled allowance.

  3. Cut long limbs down before loading. Nothing to do with our rules, it is simply that a container packed with 6 foot lengths holds close to twice what one packed with whole limbs does.

Practical detail

Loading Brush Without Wasting Half The Container

Butt ends one way

Stacked in the same direction, limbs nest. Thrown in at angles they bridge and you lose the space underneath.

Soil and rootballs are a different load

Dirt and sod are heavy fill and belong in the fill material only: concrete, dirt, sod and asphalt 7 yard at $350, not mixed into a brush load.

Keep it under the rail

Branches springing up above the top rail are the most common reason a brush load cannot legally leave. Cut and pack rather than pile.

What A Brush Container Costs

Brush is the material where metered weight pays off hardest, because a container packed to the rail with limbs still weighs very little compared with anything else we haul.

Delivered $200
Tonnage included no tonnage included and none wasted
Per ton on the scale $140
Days included 1, extra days $5
Typical total about $421

Arrived at by $200 + (1.58 x $140) = about $421, though a brush load usually weighs well under the average because the material is so light. A pure brush load triggers no disposal fees at all. Soil and rootballs are the thing to keep out, because those are heavy fill and belong in the 7 yard. Full list on what can go in a dumpster. Full model on dumpster rental cost.
